Anyone else playing Knights of the Old Republic? Finally a great game for the XBox - and an RPG at that!

As a fan of the Xbox, i picked up KOTOR warily. I don't like first person shooter games (I played Doom when you still had to download it) and online massive games are boring to me b/c they are basically BIG FPS games. I am really enjoying KOTOR, I just started it and am in the "sewers". I'm not a big fan of cheat books, so I didn't buy it, so I'm currently stuck unable to kill a room full of bad guys so i can get the swoop engine (I expect i need to use the frag mine) then again i don't read manuals either. Freelancer is fun too, i have that on my PC.

KOTOR is completely awesome. Best game I've played on my Xbox since Splinter Cell, and Halo. And more to my tastes - party managing, strategic combat, plots and plot twists. I think it's a very well-crafted game. Of course I'm spending enough time in the game to have some nitpicky comments; mostly I wish the loading times were faster. But that's just because I'm impatient to get to the next phase of gameplay!

Bioware has really honed their game design craft. The American standard for RPGs methinks. Of a sort at least. They've defined their own D&D rules based game type. So I wonder what will happen if they develop their own games outside of the D&D ruleset?

I'm currently playing this game as a light side Jedi. I wish I had more time to dedicate to this game, but I barely get to play a few hours a day. I can't wait to beat it so I can then try a dark side Jedi. As for the loading time, I agree. I've also hit a few minor glitches, but it's not bad at all.

Lastly, anyone excited about Gladius which is also produced by Bioware? The trailer looks really good. (But maybe this should be another thread.)

Back to KOTOR.... Who's playing what characters? I'm playing a scoundrel who is also a Jedi counselor.

      Peace.

i guess i'm a light jedi scout so far, i'm in the sewers and trying to figure out how to get that swoop engine and not being killed by the room full of troops. I finally figured out energy shields are helpful :)

Light Jedi - Scoundrel... this game has everything that a classic game should have in my book. Already addicted.

You gotta go through the game as a Dark Jedi. The ending is way better in my opinion. But either way, it's a great game. And I'm not just saying that because I work at LucasArts. In fact, in many ways, I say that in spite of the fact I work there.
